The spring season will run from April 1 until June 1, beginning with team development prior to playing any games. We will attempt to assign every team two practices per week, but this may vary due to ice allocation. One of the two practices may be early morning.
The season will include:
- Practices as mentioned above
- 1–2 Game Slots
- 1 Tournament
- Optional second tournament at the discretion of parents and team staff (additional cost)
- Non-parent Coaches (where possible)
The tournament will be chosen collectively by the team. If the team decides to participate in an additional tournament, that cost will be added to the total program fee.
COST
The cost to tryout is $50. If selected to a Reign Spring Team, the total program fee will vary depending on team roster size, coaching costs and tournament selection. A $500 deposit will be required upon accepting a roster spot.
The skills development portion is included within BC Hockey/Hockey Canada insurance.
Please note that participation in the spring season tournament(s) is not covered through BC Hockey insurance and a component of the program fee provides private insurance coverage for the tournaments.
TRYOUTS & TEAM SELECTION
Tryouts will be held at The Q Center, Dec 12 and Dec 19 (if needed), times and groups to be determined. Team composition and selection will be finalized by December 22.
If overall registration numbers are insufficient for a particular age group, or if the Selection Committee determines that the skill level does not meet the required standard for a competitive tournament, CRFMHA may opt not to declare a team in that age group.
