BC Hockey has approved OA players in the past but we need to apply on a case-by-case basis.

 

YES.  We can add two OA players to a U18C roster (aka House).  If this is something that interests you, please let us know.

 

Officially, the first ice time is Sept 19.  If your gear is not here yet,or arrives late, don't panic.  You can join anytime.

 

Our regular weekly slot is at Ian Stewart Complex (UVic) after night classes and after work.  We are still working to finalize the actual time within the facility.  We may have some additional game times on Fri or Sat night if that is what the team wants.  Mostly, it is once per week.

 

Officially, March 17.  There is a break for holidays and reading week etc.

 

 NO - the schedule will include weeks with a "bye".  However, when your team is scheduled for a game, you should plan to participate.

 

NO - for administrative purposes, the program is designed as a season-long experience.  To secure the ice and guarantee the program, we need as many players registered as possible early in the season. (However, registration does remain open until Feb 5, 2024 if you want to join later).

 

There are practices, but based on player feedback we want most of the experience to be game play.  When there are practices, they will be run by a professional coach.

 

1) House League - We expect to have at least 3 teams in 2023-24 and possibly 4.  There will be a playoff round with Semifinals and a Championship game.

2) We also have the option to host selected local Senior Women's teams and they could invite you back.

3) PCAHA U21 teams - In the past we have hosted Vancouver Angels and Richmond Ravens, who come to Victoria for a double header (2 games on the same day).  We've also had interest from Tricities Predators in the past.

4) Tournaments - U21 Tournaments on the mainland are an option (entry fee not included in registration).

 

Our form is for all players age 5 - 20.  If you are below the age of majority (19), please supply parental information.  We consider all U21 players to be full voting members of the Association.

 

Tell your folks to ship it right now!  It will be here in time for Sept 19... or pick it up when you are home for Thanksgiving.  CRFMHA does have a limited supply of gently used gear for loan.  CRFMHA will reimburse 50% of the cost of economy/ground shipping if you supply a receipt.

 

It sucks to play without a goalie.

In the past, we've had teams with a mix of a few former AAA players, a few A players and a few C players... but this is mainly for fun and recreational in nature.  If you aren't sure if it is right for you, watch the first session on Sept 19 and then decide.  We do sometimes offer a Beginner night for adults and there is also the option for 2005 players to join a U18 team, where there is more of a focus on skill development.  Bottom line: We want you to play!

 

Ringette players are great skaters, fantastic passers and great teammates, so YES you can join and we will teach you how to shoot the puck!  You will need a new stick.

 

YES - we have 20 younger teams from U7 to U18.

You can be involved with those teams as Assistant Coaches or On-ice Helpers, depending on your availability and interest... (okay,... no one actually asked that question, but it is an opportunity for you to give back to the game you love so much... in fact, you can do this even if you decide not to play U21.  We can help you find coaching courses and reimburse the registration fees if you complete your certification).

 

Well... no one asked that either, but in the interest of full disclosure... You pay your Basic Registration Fee of $425 to play.  There is ALSO a jersey deposit of $150 that is paid at registration and is refunded when you retire and leave CRFMHA (assuming you leave your jersey behind and in good condition).
